Low Tide is a seasonal playlist moving between leftfield ambient, electronic pop, lo-fi rap and loosely constructed song forms. Casual and unguarded in character, the music finds its own structure within instability, embracing raw aesthetics, repetition and fragments that remain slightly unresolved. Warm, loose and windswept, the selection drifts between different generations, places and musical terrains.
Featuring Dean Blunt, Smerz, Quiet Light, Organ Tapes, Tirzah, Paloma Wool, DJ Python, Arthur Russell, Salamanda, Susumu Yokota, Batata Boy & more…
Compiled by East London-based architecture studio Apricot Square as part of its Spotify playlist series, with thanks to the artists for their inspiring work.
